Baixuan Chen

Baixuan Chen was born 1997 in Shanghai, currently based in Munich, Germany. She obtained her bachelor degree in Fine Art, oil painting from China Academy of Art in 2020, and she is now studying at Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, Klasse Rosenkranz, Munich, Germany.

“My recent idea of creation is expressing pessimism within everyday life through imagination. By combining horror and humor –both of which cast doubt on facts and reject any rational explanation of the world. I use a supernatural perspective and an exaggerated approach to depict life itself and to portray my inner spiritual world. My works imagine things or events that could not occur or exist in reality, emphasising the result and accepting that the result is the process itself. My inspiration comes from horror stories, films, or dreams.”

2024 – now Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, Klasse Rosenkranz, Munich, Germany
2020 – 2024 Fine Art, oil painting from China Academy of Art
